In commemoration of the International Women Day on the 8th of March, Pad-Up partnered with @browncongroup to sensitize women in Kabusa Village, Abuja, Nigeria on Menstrual Empowerment. Choosing to challenge gender bias.
Our partners @browncongroup were super awesome in the provision of sanitary material, wrappers and face masks to the women.
Some Nigerians have expressed their opinions stating that the women were only gathered for the gift items. However, at Pad-up, we believe that no one can truly conclude which woman left there with hope of a great future as the foundation of the work that we do is striving to make the women never to give up regardless of the situation.
We would continue choosing to challenge gender bias, gender based violence, period poverty and stigmatization against women. We would continue to choose to educate and sensitize women on proper menstrual hygiene.
