Pad-Up Africa is a menstrual health and hygiene advocacy organization founded with a clear mission: to end period poverty, promote menstrual dignity, and empower girls and women with the right information, products, and support they need to manage their periods safely and confidently.

Dignity
We believe every girl and woman deserves to manage her period with confidence and respect.
Education
We use knowledge to break myths, silence, stigma, and harmful cultural beliefs around menstruation.
Access
We advocate for menstrual products to be seen not as luxury items, but as basic hygiene necessities.
Inclusion
We engage girls, boys, women, men, schools, communities, and institutions because ending period poverty requires everyone.

We design programs that create real change in the lives of girls and women.
Since its inception, Pad-Up Africa has worked with schools, rural communities, IDP camps, institutions, partners, volunteers, and advocates to confront the silence, stigma, and lack of access surrounding menstruation.
We do not see menstruation as a private problem.
We see it as a public health, education, dignity, and gender equality issue.
That is why we continue to raise awareness, distribute menstrual products, train girls and women, engage boys and men, and advocate for a society where every girl can menstruate without shame.
Achievements
Over the years, Pad-Up Africa has continued to advance menstrual dignity, hygiene education, and access to menstrual products for girls and women across schools, rural communities, and vulnerable populations.
- Built toilet facilities in schools to improve hygiene, privacy, and dignity for students.
- Trained women and girls in rural communities and IDP camps on reusable sanitary pad production.
- Distributed sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene kits to underserved girls and women.
- Conducted menstrual hygiene sensitization programs in schools and communities
