Community Bleeds Initiative

On Wednesday, 7th January 2026, Pad Up Africa joined forces with the @bsgnfoundation for “The Community Bleeds Initiative” at Government Secondary School, Mabushi.

With the theme “Empowering Her Period Journey,” we engaged young schoolgirls in an honest, hands-on workshop on how to use the menstrual cup safely and confidently.

Beyond education, we created a space for truth, dignity, and sisterhood.

We believe no girl should be left behind because of her period!

We’re grateful for all the support and partnerships that made this a success. Let’s keep pushing this movement forward!

“A girl child is to be bold, strong, and ready to face the world.” — Grace Okolo, Student at GSS Mabushi.

At @padupafrica, we believe that empowerment starts with health and ends with confidence. We recently took our advocacy to Abuja, partnering with the @bsgnfoundation to provide essential menstrual hygiene education and self-worth training to these incredible students.

As our Founder Ashley Lori, shared during the session: hygiene talk isn’t just an “extra”, it belongs in the curriculum. Whether it’s teaching the girls about sustainable period products or educating boys on how to support their peers, we are here to ensure no student feels “shame” about a natural process.

Why this matters:
✅ Proper hygiene keeps girls in school and focused on their dreams.
✅ Moving away from unsafe alternatives like tissue paper protects reproductive health.
✅ Building a “mindset of greatness” creates leaders for tomorrow.
